PUPPY I TRAINING - Basic obedience skills and boundary setting
Puppies 16 weeks to adult dogs with no prior group training (with age appropriate vaccines)
How fun - your puppy is now ready for school! This class is for all dogs 16 weeks and older. Older dogs without prior training are also welcome - this is a great class for them to not only learn their basic obedience skills but develop social skills. Pets will be allowed to run around and play with other dogs. Since it is recommended to not take your puppies to dog parks, pet stores, etc - this is the perfect environment to bring your puppy. You can be assured that all dogs entering the center have been properly vaccinated and that the environment is clean so that your pet is safe and sound. During your sessions you will also learn:
* how to set effective boundaries
* housebreaking tips
* stopping puppy nipping and jumping
* effective crating tips
* what to do during the "puppy zoomies" - that uncontrollable running around and what seems like aggressive biting (it's not aggression)
* Basic Obedience Commands (focus, stop, sit, down, stay, leave it and come)
* Leash walking techniques, and more.
You will walk away with effective leadership skills and communication skills to ensure that your pet is understanding what is being ask of them. This is also a great class to reintroduce a shy dog or an adult dog to group training.
$150.00/ 6- wk class. Evening and weekend classes available. Click here for the schedule of classes.
PUPPY BASIC II - REFINING BASIC COMMANDS
For puppies / adult dogs 8 months and older with one prior group training or knowledge of the basic foundation commands.
This is a great class for puppies that have just learned their basic commands in a group setting but still have that puppy distraction and energy level. Also a great class for a newly adopted pet where owner leadership, boundaries and basics are needed. Learn techniques to continue to set effective home boundaries, work all commands adding time, distance and distraction and continue learning loose leash walking. In this class we refine basic obedience commands in a group setting with the addition of distractions of other dogs and other stimuli. As your pet matures distractions are harder to handle, focus becomes difficult and leash walking becomes a struggle. You will learn techniques to get you through that maturity stage. We teach your pet the rewards of first response (I'm not asking you twice), focus, social skills (no jumping and proper human and doggie greetings), working the sit/stay command with distractions, loose leash walking, recall and leave it. Weather permitting classes are held outside to work on overcoming outside distractions.
All Classes required proof of age appropriate vaccines (Distemper, Parvo, Rabies and Bordatella) and clear fecal required. Click here for Schedule of Classes.
$150 / 6-week class.
